The real estate industry has destabilized the natural surroundings of the city of Concón, on the Chilean coast, forcing the inhabitants and landscapes of the region to find new ways to adapt and survive. “Nidal” depicts the cohabitating of species and the accelerated transformation of the landscapes due to human occupation.

Etched in Bone (2018)
Drawing on original footage from National Geographic, Etched in Bone explores the impact of one notorious bone theft by a member of the 1948 American-Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land. Hundred of bones were stolen and deposited in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, until it became known to Arnhem elders in the late 1990s. The return of the sacred artefacts was called for, resulting in a tense standoff between indigenous tribespeople and the Department of Anthropology at the Smithsonian.
The Trick Brain (2013)
A dark and magical visit to the fabled Parisian address Rue Fontaine 42. This was the residence of André Breton, the mastermind of surrealism, who surrounded himself with an impressive collection of modern, Western art and ethnographic objects from Oceania and North America. The collection was sold and divided up in 2003 at a controversial auction. 'The Trick Brain' is a delirious montage and a trip back in time to Breton's private art collection, where Atkins has been scouring the archives and come up with a possessing interior film of the place that once was, complete with surrealistic paintings, scores of Indian figures and hundreds of other displayed rarities. The film's soundtrack is provided by an observant narrator, who reveals to us that the objects shown are not necessarily what they claim to be - but instead are catalysts for some kind of wonderful linguistic virus which reveals the real identity of things.

New Year (2010)
When everyone is supposed to be celebrating the arrival of a new year, the Chilean director Cristobal Valenzuela takes to the streets of Santiago to give voice to another facet, less colorful and festive, undoubtedly invisible, of this eve. Lonely pedestrians who roam the streets of the city inhabit the frame of a handheld camera that allows them to express themselves. Comments of hopelessness and tiredness, contrasting with the sky lit by fireworks, give us a glimpse to that other social image.

San Pedro de Atacama (1964)
Report on the town of San Pedro which exists in the middle of the desert and at over 2,430 meters above sea level. It also deals with the work of priest Gustavo Le Paige and the museum he helped develop.

German Souls (2010)
Rüdiger was a child, Aki two months old and Kurt, the deputy of the pedophile leader of the sect. In 1961 they came to Chile together with 500 other German sect members and for over 40 years they lived secluded from the rest of the world. The film tells about the attempt to survive as a collective after decades of crimes such as torture and murder and shows different ways in which the individual copes with the history of the community.
Thread of the Needle (NaN)
Ano Ravenia, a mountain village in Greece, young men leave to find work, learn a trade or serve in the Army while a young woman may leave her father's house only to enter that of her husband. The unmarried girls remain in the village amoung the elderly folk, meeting together to embroider their trousseaus and chat. In a rural Greek community, it is not the role of women to express their point of view in public. The film allows the spectator to sit in one of these casual sewing sessions where the girls talk about their wishes and problems, most of which revolve around marriages that will change their lives.
My Family and Me (NaN)
Thanassakis, a 13-year-old boy, is staying with his grandparents in the Greek village of Ano Ravenia, while his parents stay with his younger brother in Zurich, Switzerland. It was filmed during three periods: winter in the village, summer in the village (while his parents, as most migrants, come back for the holidays), and Christmas in Zurich when the grandfather and the young boy visit their family. Who is most important to the young boy - his father or grandfather?

Gas Escape (2015)
1972. During the government of Salvador Allende 34 artists made works that were included in the construction of the UNCTAD III building, today GAM. After the 1973 coup, few works survived looting and destruction. 40 years later, Joaquín Maruenda, son of the late sculptor Félix Maruenda, finds a record that leads him to investigate the events of the sculpture "Chimeneas" and its possible restoration. Joaquín, artists and workers involved with the construction of the building, will try to answer the question Why did they destroy the art?

Burden of Dreams (1982)

Sweet Osmanthus Flowering Late (2024)
"Sweet Osmanthus Flowering Late" is a feature-length ethnographic film that envisions social rejuvenation and collective convalescence in the aftermath of the pandemic. Filmed in Wuhan, the film follows the everyday lives of three middle-class households. It postulates the existence of a mass dreaming phenomenon that facilitated fatigued Chinese inhabitants to rejuvenate themselves following the secluded episode of lived experience and to coexist with the enduring imprints of "the event" on their social lives.

Statues Also Die (1953)
Commissioned by the journal Présence Africaine, this short documentary examines how African art is devalued and alienated through colonial and museum contexts. Beginning with the question of why African works are confined to ethnographic displays while Greek or Egyptian art is celebrated, the film became a landmark of anti-colonial cinema and was banned in France for eight years.
